Plecia pealei (Scudder) Green River Formation Middle Eocene Lincoln County, Wyoming
This is a good example of the fly Plecia pealei (Scudder). The wings lack good detail, but the thorax and legs are well preserved. Plecia pealei is commonly known as a March Fly. This is one of the few Green River insects that is adequately studied and named by Samuel Scudder in the 1890's.
