This is a beautiful leaf from the Family Araliaceae.  The specimen is part and counterpart.  The leaf has superb venation, and the margin detail is excellent.  This example is collected from the 18-inch layer.
Fossil examples of the Family Araliaceae are undescribed in the scientific literature.  There are over 250 living species found all over the world today in a variety of habitats.  Living forms include shrubs, vines and small trees.
